4TIERS was founded in 2020 by Dr.-Ing. Karim Esfahlani, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benedikt Plaumann and Dipl.-Ing. Lars Brömer – three experts from different disciplines, united by their passion for environmental simulation.
Our strength lies in our holistic approach. We combine the perspectives of a test equipment manufacturer, a laboratory operator and the end customer to develop optimal solutions.
Our focus is on the development of proficiency tests for environmental simulation tests such as vibration, shock, temperature changes and humidity tests.

Karim Esfahlani – founder with a passion for quality and
Karim Esfahlani is an expert in environmental simulation, transport and packaging testing. After completing his doctorate, he founded Paconsult GmbH, a test house with a focus on type testing, transport simulations and medical device testing. Today, the company operates three locations in Germany and one in Switzerland.
With his passion for precise tests and his expertise, Karim Esfahlani now also supports 4Tiers GmbH. His extensive experience ranges from standardized packaging tests to sophisticated testing procedures in medical technology and for durable plastics. This knowledge has a lasting impact on the further development of our services.

Benedikt Plaumann – expert for testing and measurement technology
Benedikt Plaumann has extensive expertise in testing and measurement technology, built up through projects in lightweight construction, medical technology and aviation. During his doctorate, he delved into the structural dynamics of lightweight components.
As head of the test laboratory at RMS, he expanded his knowledge to include topics such as marine shock tests and electromobility. His work led to a patent for lithium-ion battery tests and new test bench concepts.
Benedikt Plaumann has been a professor at the HAW Hamburg since 2020. In addition to research and teaching, he remains loyal to testing and measurement technology and enthusiastically promotes innovations.

Lars Brömer – Innovator with a passion for technology and leadership
Lars Brömer studied aerospace engineering at the TU Berlin. Experiences at the TU and at the Fraunhofer Society sharpened his IT understanding and methodological skills, which he further developed as a consultant at the Daimler spin-off Avanion GmbH.
Professional positions at Volkswagen and Opel awakened his passion for automotive technology and expanded his industry knowledge. Since 2017, Lars Brömer has been managing director of RMS and is responsible for the development of innovative test equipment and environmental simulators.
As founder of 4Tiers, he brings his expertise and the vision of a diverse, dynamic team.
